DVLaw has advised BIG PI VENTURE CAPITAL MANAGEMENT S.A. in connection with the establishment in Greece of a venture capital fund of €50,150,000 initial size that will invest in SMEs through equity / quasi equity instruments pursuant to the provisions of article 7 of Law 2992/2002, following submission by the manager of the fund of an expression of interest to Hellenic Development Bank of Investments S.A (“HBDI”) relevant invitation of 20.4.2022 and under the InnovateNow Project.
Through the InnovateNow Project HBDI participates in newly-formed venture capital schemes, that will invest in SMEs with innovative features and active in rapidly growing sectors of the economy, (such as. of information technology, biotechnology, microelectronics and contribute to the production process through the development of Cyber-physical systems, IoT, On-demand availability of computer system resources, cognitive computing, robotic applications, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, genomics, cyberspace, big data analysis etc). The InnovateNow Project was implemented pursuant to an agreement entered into between HDBI and the Hellenic Republic dated 1.4.2022 regarding the assignment to HDBI of the management of the resources originating from the Recovery and Resilience Facility and the execution of the project “Recovery and Resilience Facility: Equity Platform instrument (Q-equity & InnovateNow). The legal services provided include advice on the key terms of the Fund, drafting, negotiation and finalization of the Limited Partnership Agreement between the management company the limited partners and the custodian.
